I forgot to post about it yesterday
Well, yesterday was the first day of school for me. The dental assisting class is all women. Even the instructers are women. The classes are actually not held at the school, instead they are held at a dentist's office. You get hands on experience and actually get to work with patients. The dentist has actually hired people before they even graduated. So they said that first impressions are very important. They look for positions that open up in dental offices and try and get the students hired so that they can have more hands on experience. There are some single moms in the class trying to make it so they can make a life for them and their kid(s). There are women in their 30's who are sick of trying to make ends meet at their current job. And 1 student just graduated and knew what she wanted to do and went right for it. There are 15 women in the class and they are all pretty friendly. We start the first chapter today and will be using flash cards. I'm really excited about this I think it's something I'll do great in. And since first impressions are important...pray that I make a great one!

I am POSITIVE you will make a GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION!!
Sounds exciting...hope you like your teachers and the students you are studying with...good luck girly!
Crystal, I'm proud of you and Donna both! Go for it - you'll never be in this same place again, life tends to move on. Getting your education early helps you for all the rest of your life. And you've been wanting this line of work for some time now. My prayers are with you, that you will both do well and enjoy the process; that even the times when you don't do well you'll be able to laugh, shrug it off, and move on! Yay, Crystal!
I'm excited for you, Crystal!! :-)
Have fun. My sister starts a similar course in 2 weeks. Canadians don't start school till after Labour Day. Hope you enjoy the course!
I'm with Kimber here, I think you more than likely made an awesome first impression! I know you made a good one with me...of course that was blogging, but still.... :-D
Love you!
what dentist's office are you in?
i'm sure that you will make a great first impression!!! just pay attention to how the dentist wants things done because he/she is really the only one that matters. what you learn in this class will help, but you'll have to re-learn everything once you are hired. i don't say that to discourage you, but to give you a heads up -- always stay open to the different ways that things are done.
i'm very excited for you!!! have fun and work hard -- you'll do GREAT!!!
