Prayer request

Hey all! Just wanted to let you know that a friend I go to school with needs prayer. Actually it's her daughter. Her daughter is 5 years old and a fairly healthy kid. But for some unknown reason she has been getting pink eye a lot lately. She's had it 4 times in the past 8 weeks. She is now in need of seeing a specialist because they are concerned about her vision. Her mom is really stressed out and worried. Her daughter has had to miss 11 days of school now. Apparently there are other kids from her school who have gotten it, but noone at the daycare she goes to. Mom has had to miss class so she could stay home with her. She is only 5 and already having vision issues. And mom has had to spend hundreds of dollars on prescriptions and office visits. I feel bad for both of them. Do keep them in prayer and pray also that mom keeps her cool if she goes to talk to the principle at the school again. She is convinced that it's the school's fault. The last time she went, she, in her words, "raised hell". I don't blame her. But the school can only do so much. I don't know, but as a mom she would like some advice. What would you moms out there do in her situation?

~ Crystal,
You know theres a nasty ear infection bug rolling around our town making people really sick. Throwing up... dizzy... hives, etc... really bad!
Ive had a stuffed up ear for over a month now. Couldnt hear out of it for about two weeks.
This week at the Obgyn (I go every 2 weeks now) I had the Dr. check my ear out. My ear drum (right one) was inflamed... so Im on anti-biotics to fix it.

Weird huh?

Try this vitamin out -

Drea,
I actually went to the doctor today. I couldn't stand it anymore, I was in so much and sooooo miserable. She said I have a major ear infection and that everything else is pretty much infected to, including my throat! Ewwwww. I'll check out that vitamin when I get the chance. Hope you feel better, especially being pregnant. I can't imagine being sick and pregnant at the same time!

Crystal, my sister had an ear infection yesterday; her daughter (Dr. Donna) gave her this suggestion:

...the best thing to do for an earache is to first put
peroxide in the ear, then drain it out. Follow with alcohol and drain it out. (Aunt Glenda let each solution stay in for a minute.) Then apply a warm wet cloth to the glands that are swollen and to the painful ear.

She kept the moist heat on for about 20-30 minutes. By the time she went to bed it was already feeling better. (You can heat and re-heat a damp towel in the microwave, just a few seconds will do it. Be careful don't get it too hot nor let it catch fire.)

If you have a sore throat, gargle frequently with hot salt water. It kills the bugs.

Another treatment for earache: cut the end off an onion to expose the juice. Heat the onion bulb briefly in the microwave to get the juice flowing. Squeeze the onion juice into the ear. Bugs can't stand onion juice.

The best thing about these remedies (besides that they work) is that they are free! No doctor visit required. No antibiotics needed. No harm to unborn babies.

That's a tough situation. I don't know if mom could really blame the school or not. Who is to blame are the parents with kids who have pink eye and send them to school knowingly. I suppose the school can't do much about that. I can imagine the frustration of your friend!! I'll keep her and her daughter in my prayers.
