We're back...and all moved in

Hey all! We are back from our getaway. Let me just say that I am so glad we picked amish country! We had an amazing time! We got there Saturday and just relaxed and ate dinner. We didn't do much Sunday since just about everything was closed. I was really inspired by these people who cherish their Sundays. And besides, Sunday was our big day. And that was a day to reconnect with one another. It was awesome. Then on Monday we woke up early, packed the stuff into the car and headed out to breakfast. After that we went to a pet store. Yeah, they sold puppies there...can you guess how long it took Caleb to drag me out of there so we could get on with the rest of our day? LOL! We saw the cutest pomeranian. It was the size of my hand and the smallest pom they'd ever recieved. Soooo cute! But I fell in love with a chihuhua and pug mix called a "chug". It was the sweetest thing ever. Finally, Caleb was able to convice me to leave and we went and purchased tickets for a wagon ride through a farm. Caleb had to go to the bathroom and I waited for him. While waiting for him I walked around the farm and all of a sudden my ankle fell into a dip in the ground and down I went. That's right. I sprained my ankle. One guy ran over to me and asked if I was OK. I said yes, and that no nothing was broken. He went and got me ice. As Caleb was coming out of the bathroom, he sees me lying on the ground and comes running over. I'm OK, I just sprained my ankle. So being the paramedic he is, he went and got his medical bag and puts an ace bandage on my ankle. The guy with the ice comes and hands it to me. I sit there, icing my ankle, bumming out, but am determined to go on with the rest of our day. We climbed on (actually, I hobbled on) to the wagon and we go out to the farm and feed the animals. After that we went to a cheese factory and sample all kinds of cheese and chocolates. We even got to look through the windows to see how they make the cheese. Then my ankle really starts to hurt since I'm walking on cement floors. But I am still determined not to let it ruin my day. After that we get to the best part of our day...the exotic animal farm. We got on another wagon expecting to see some emus, deer and donkeys. Oh, but it was so much more than that. We saw zebras, camels, kangaroos, and even monkeys to name a few. We got to feed them and the zebra actually let me pet it! I was so excited to touch a zebra! Then we went to the petting area. That was so much fun. Most of you know that I'm an animal lover, so for me this was heaven...it was also therapuetic. My ankle was feeling a lot better! The swelling went down and I wasn't limping as much. Then we left for home. This was an anniversary we will never forget. It was so much more than we anticipated and more importantly Caleb and I fell in love all over again. I will post some pictures of our getaway and our new place as soon as I can. Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm glad you had fun and didn't let your accident spoil your good time. An ankle sprain really hurts!!

Always remember how much you love him. Remembering the first years of your marriage will get you through some hard times. We've only been married 6 years and I'm already having to look back and remember! :-)

Aww, I'm sorry about your foot, but it must have been sweet to get all that attention! I'm glad it healed up quickly. I sprained an ankle one time climbing over a fence to go to church (!) and I was aware of that ankle for years. It's fine now.

Also, I'm glad you and Caleb had a great time and fell in love all over again. That's the great part of getaways, date nights, and other such one-on-one times. Leave your worries behind and just be in love with each other!

That "chug" sounds so cute! I love visiting the pet stores too. I'm sorry you hurt your foot, but what a trooper you are! We have to seize special moments and suck it up sometimes, don't we? I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm sure Amish country was just lovely this time of year. What a great way to kick off the fall!
