Progress

Progress is good...especially when it comes to weight loss! I haven't necessarily lost any weight, but I have lost an inch off my waist in just a few days! Now that's kicking my butt! I am continuing to do my hip hop abs and healthy eating, but I have also been considering detox. I have been doing a lot of research on detoxifying the body, but I'm not sure it's for me. I saw a supplement at the store called purenol that actually helps to detoxify the body in just 5 days. There is also water and juice fasting, which helps to cleanse and detox the body in a month if it is done like it is supposed to be. I'm still unsure if I should do it.

#1. I don't know if I could follow it. I'm not sure I have the will power.

#2. It's pretty radical. I'm just starting out and wonder if I should wait until I've lost more weight.

#3. It's expensive. In order to do the water fasting I can only buy distilled water. In order to do the juice fasting I have to go buy a whole hord of fruits and vegetables and a juicer. They say the pulp inhibits the detoxifying process so a juicer is "necessary". And the supplement is 30 bucks for only a five day supply.

So, have any of you detoxed before? Does anyone have any helpful information about it? I would like to try it since I read about someone who did it and lost 52 lbs in just 3 months! Which would be great. But seriously...I need opinions and advice people! Thanks!

You can get a good colon cleanser from a health food store. (Gross, I know) ;-) I did one of those once and it really makes a difference in how you feel!

I joined sparkpeople.com it is free and I love it! I have also thought about doing a detox but I decided that I didn't have the will power to do that.

I worked for a nutritionist who frequently recommended a detox period. I'm not sure how stringent it was, but it wasn't as restrictive as forcing a supplement and a juicer. He was a vegan and I think that is more along the lines of his detox. Ya stick to raw foods...fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, berries. Then, you add things back in, staying healthy, though. Things like almond butter insead of peanut better. And of course, staying away from the "7 deadly sins" of things like caffeine, sugar, wheat, cheese, ect. Good luck, girl!

I can't recall exactly how much it was, but I don't remember thinking it was all that expensive.
